Updated blog and retrofitted tags

September 29th, 2008 by Roybott in General

After updating from a very old version of WordPress I discovered that WordPress now has support for proper ‘Tags’, so I decided to go back and add them to all of my previous posts.

Retrofitting tags probably isn’t the best idea but at least now I wont have a period where my tag cloud (now added to the side bar on the left :)) has only 2 things in it.

Everything back up and running…

September 25th, 2008 by Roybott in General, Hosting

Well I’m sure absolutely no one had noticed :) but this blog/site/domain had been offline for a number of weeks (maybe a month). The Reason is that my hosting with Streamline.net was about to expire when I suddenly decided that I wanted to move to a different hosting provider, unfortuantly I didnt get the cancelation sorted out untill about 10 days before my renewal was due. This meant that I didnt meet Streamline.net’s 14 day cancelation period and so they wouldn’t allow me to cancel (more on this in a later post where I’ll complain about a few other things too!)

Anyway everything is back online now and I’m back at University for my final year!

Well its been about 2 months since I last posted… wow so much for keeping this going!

OK so ill try and sum up the last 2 months in as little writing as I can:

  • Opened a LoveFiLM account (which is AWESOME)
  • Went to Silicon Valley and San Francisco, California
  • Got some ‘Lucky Charms’
  • Got my Legendary Edition of Halo 3
  • Got RRoD (Red Ring of Death) on my 360 :(

There is more but I can’t really think at this second… so I’ll post again if there is anything major I missed about the last 2 months and hopefully keep this blog a bit more up to date in the future!

Back ONLINE!

August 1st, 2007 by Roybott in General

After being without Internet (at home anyway) for pretty much a month now, we have finally got it sorted! In the end we went with Virgin Media, while I’m pretty impressed with the speed (20 Mb/s) I wasn’t so impressed with the fact that we ordered it 3 weeks ago, a guy came out to “install” it 1 week ago and finally it has now been activated. By “Install” I literally do mean a guy came out and plugged the modem into an electrical socket for us… I’m guessing he didn’t expect we had a cable to our house already even though we said so a few times!

On a slightly different note, the previous two posts have been quick summaries of my first two weeks within MS, I wrote them like this as I haven’t had access to the Internet (at home anyway) during those weeks and so couldn’t write about events just as they happened. My intention for the future of this blog is to keep a record of any ‘key’ things that happen (either happen to me, or just things that happen that I deem interesting enough to comment on) rather than write about every little thing or every week that goes by.
